The paper, which offers loyalist content, was established in 1980 by the government of Dubai.The chief editor is Da'en Shahin who is also director-general for publishing at Dubai Media Incorporated and its deputy chief editor is Ali Shahdoor. The owner of Al Bayan is Hasher Al Maktoum, a member of the royal family.
Saad Mohib, CEO of HalalChain, a platform specialized in tracking halal products based on blockchain technology, asserted that blockchain technology can play a major role in boosting the global Halal trade market which amounts to $6.4 trillion through supporting the halal production process. He added that the technology can facilitate innovation of more Islamic financing solutions and products as well; thus, supporting the “Dubai Islamic Capital Initiative”.
Mohib pointed out that HalalChain platform uses the data generated from IoT sensors to monitor the stages of manufacturing of Halal products in all stages in place and in real time and then coding all components in a blockchain environment. He noted that HalaChain is currently in talks with Dubai Municipality for the possibility of employing the tracking technology in for imported foods into the Emirate. He added that the Platform enables payment of documentation fees as well, stressing that “blockchain has opened a whole new horizon in the world of digital economy today”.
